From Atheism to Faith

Dr. Ming Wang’s journey from skepticism to belief is both extraordinary and deeply inspiring. Born in China, he was raised as an atheist, taught that science was the only framework through which the world could be understood. When he immigrated to the United States, he carried with him both a sharp scientific mind and a worldview rooted in disbelief.

But as Dr. Wang began his advanced medical studies, one subject captured his attention in a life-changing way: the human eye.

The Eye as Evidence of Design

In his research, Dr. Wang encountered the remarkable complexity of the eye. Its structure, precision, and interdependent systems seemed too purposeful to be explained by random chance. The deeper he studied, the more convinced he became that such intricate design pointed to a Creator. This realization became the turning point that led him away from atheism and toward faith.

Embracing Christianity

Dr. Wang’s scientific discoveries opened the door to spiritual reflection. Through this journey, he came to embrace Christianity, ultimately professing faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior. His story demonstrates the harmony he now sees between science and belief—a conviction that knowledge and faith are not opposing forces but complementary truths.

A Career of Sight and Service

Beyond his personal spiritual transformation, Dr. Wang has dedicated his life to restoring physical sight to thousands. Trained at both Harvard and MIT, he has performed over 55,000 eye surgeries, many of them pioneering advances in laser vision correction.

In addition, he founded the Wang Foundation for Sight Restoration, a non-profit that provides free eye surgeries for orphaned children worldwide, embodying his faith through service.

The Film ‘Sight’

Dr. Wang’s inspiring story is now being shared with the world through the feature film Sight, based on his autobiography From Darkness to Sight. The movie highlights his remarkable journey from atheism to Christianity, and from poverty to becoming one of the world’s leading eye surgeons.

Dr. Ming Wang’s life reminds us that the pursuit of truth—whether through science or faith—can lead to both clarity of vision and clarity of spirit.
